Last year I examined my very few, cheap, old and poor quality sweaters, and decided it was time for a change. Most of my old sweaters were not very soft, and weren’t made of very good materials (because that was before I knew much about quality and fabrics).

Because we’re on a budget, I went on a “thrift hunt” and managed to find some cotton, merino wool and cashmere sweaters at Goodwill! That was definitely a blessing!

But I also spent some time researching beautiful cashmere and merino wool sweaters online (some which I will link below) . . . these soft and gorgeous luxury sweaters were absolutely dreamy. But we had a lot of Christmas Presents to buy, and so I decided to put some of these sweaters on my Christmas wish list (instead of purchasing them myself). Not only did my in-laws give me 3 beautiful sweaters . . . my husband bought me this Soft Luxury Cable Knit Aran Merino Wool Sweater I’m wearing in these pictures! I was so impressed with the quality of this sweater! It’s very soft and plush, and the knit work is beautiful. I also like the fact that it was made in Ireland!

 

 

One of my favorite things about winter, is the coziness of fires, hot drinks, blankets, fuzzy socks . . . and definitely sweaters. Having several high quality sweaters are a great investment for your winter wardrobe. If your sweaters are classic and simple, they can usually be worn in many different settings . . . You can wear your sweaters as you lounge around home with pajamas pants, wear them for a casual look with jeans and sneakers, or dress them up with a skirt, or wear them over a silk slip and add accessories like jewelry and a beret.
